Tucked into one of London’s most prestigious neighborhoods, The Audley Public House offers more than meets the eye. Behind its elegant Victorian façade lies a beautifully layered experience where traditional pub culture meets refined design, fine art, and elevated dining. Lighting designers Speirs Major specified Precision by Luminii’s product range to deliver flexible, high-performance lighting across the venue’s uniquely curated spaces.
This project marked a milestone for Precision by Luminii, as it was one of the first major implementations of Tunable White technology within the UK market, bringing an elevated atmosphere to every floor, from business lunches to intimate dinners.
At street level, The Audley is still a proud neighborhood pub, rich in history and British fare. But above this unassuming foundation lies Mount Street Restaurant and a suite of private hire dining rooms that redefine elegance and cultural refinement. Each space tells a distinct story through heritage, art, and design.

Lighting Designer Speirs Major selected Luminii’s Minimo Pro and Solo 16 luminaires for their precise optics and architectural-grade performance. Tunable White modules were central to the design strategy, enabling dynamic lighting moods throughout the day from the energetic ambience of a midday meal to the warmth and intimacy of an evening event.
“The Audley was the first big tunable white project we had. It’s such a beautiful collection of spaces—the technology really comes into its own for setting different moods, from business lunches to intimate dinners.” — Peter McClelland, Design Director, Luminii
In each room, lighting was carefully color-matched to the environment and design intent either to enhance functionality or to beautifully illuminate artwork by the likes of Andy Warhol, Phyllida Barlow, and Henri Matisse.
Built in 1888 and originally designed by architect Thomas Verity, an English theatre architect during the theatre-building boom of 1885–1915, The Audley’s Grade II-listed exterior stays unchanged. The building’s transformation, led by renowned architecture and design firm Laplace, honors its heritage while introducing a compelling new narrative rooted in art, hospitality, and modern craftsmanship.
The art featured at The Audley is far from incidental. Each room is infused with gallery-level curation—most notably, a stunning ceiling installation by celebrated British artist Phyllida Barlow. Known for her immersive, site-specific sculptures, Barlow’s collage-inspired creation draws directly from the architectural language of the space and is made even more impactful through expertly tuned lighting.
